Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah began with the death of Brother Amir Hamza and reminded us that grief and fear of death are natural. The speaker taught that death can turn our hearts back to Allah and help us remember that our health, time, and other blessings are trusts. We should not despair or postpone repentance and good deeds because we are not promised tomorrow. Instead, we can use today for prayer, kindness, apology, charity, learning, and other small deeds done consistently. Each day of life is another chance to return to Allah and prepare for the eternal life to come.

  1. What blessing of health or time can you use more intentionally this week?
  2. What small good deed could we practice together consistently?
  3. What is one thing you want to stop postponing?
