Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

This khutbah teaches that Muslims living in secular countries should support what is good around them and work peacefully and legally to change what is harmful. Our mission is larger than earning money or getting an education: we should show Islam through sincere service, good manners, safe neighborhoods, strong institutions, and opportunities for young people. At home, husbands and wives should understand each other's rights, pressures, and responsibilities. Families should prioritize raising and educating children, practice flexibility and respect, and remember that Allah will hold us accountable for how we treat those closest to us.

  1. How can our manners show Islam to someone who does not know much about it?
  2. What makes a family feel respectful, flexible, and safe?
