For the dinner table
The khateeb described five traits of true believers: hearts moved by reminders of Allah, faith strengthened by His verses, trust in Him, established salah, and generosity. He invited us to look honestly at ourselves and work toward these traits. He encouraged us to spend a little time regularly learning the language of the Qur'an so we understand more of what we hear and read. He explained that trusting Allah includes doing our part and earning in a halal way, even when life becomes difficult. He described salah as our connection with Allah and reminded parents to teach it gently. Through the example of a neighbor who shared even when she had little, he encouraged us to give consistently in both easy and hard times.
- What did you notice today that reminded you of Allah?
- What could help you feel more connected to Allah during salah?
