For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that the heart is a precious gift from Allah and a compass meant to guide us back to Him. Our hearts find peace through remembering Allah, but distractions, dishonesty, showing off, and excessive attachment to worldly things can make them sick or heedless. The khateeb encouraged us to care for both our spiritual and physical well-being, follow the Qur’an and Sunnah, and ask Allah to keep our hearts firm. He also honored Muslims whose quiet service continues to benefit others, even though they did not seek recognition. As a family and community, we can help one another purify our intentions, learn from our elders, and turn faith into sincere action.

  2. How could you help someone this week without expecting praise?
  3. What distraction would you like to make less room for in your life?
