For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that life is made up of moments and will feel very short when we return to Allah. He compared us to travelers who need to remember their destination instead of becoming distracted by comforts along the way. We can work toward success in a halal way while keeping Allah and the hereafter at the center of our choices. The people around us influence those choices, so we should seek companions who help us remember Allah. We can fill our days with repentance, remembrance, kindness, and making peace in our homes. Whatever has happened before, we can learn from it and use the moments ahead to do good.

  1. What is one moment today you are grateful to Allah for?
  2. How could you help bring peace at home or among your friends this week?
  3. If tomorrow were a step toward meeting Allah, what good deed would you want to include?
