For the dinner table
Today's khutbah invited us to find comfort and hope by remembering Jannah, or paradise. The khateeb reminded us that we face the trials of this life once, and described paradise as a place of lasting joy without sadness, sickness, or exhaustion. He encouraged us to ask Allah for the highest level of paradise and to bring sincerity, care, and effort to our worship. He emphasized that Allah knows each person's circumstances and that we should do our best with what we have been given. Beyond the beautiful gardens and gifts, he highlighted the joy of seeing Allah and being with the Prophet Muhammad. We can carry this hope into our week by remembering Allah, showing mercy to others, and praying for those who are suffering.
- Which description of Jannah from the khutbah brought you the most joy or comfort, and why?
- What could help us slow down and pay more attention during prayer?
- What is one way our family could show mercy to someone having a difficult week?
