Today’s khutbah explained the Hadith of Jibreel and the foundations of Islam. It emphasized tawhid, meaning that Allah alone deserves worship, and taught that the shahadah must be lived through our beliefs and actions. Testifying that Muhammad is Allah’s Messenger means believing his teachings, obeying his commands, avoiding his prohibitions, and worshipping Allah as he taught. Our deeds should be sincere for Allah and faithful to the Prophet’s Sunnah.
