For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us to keep Allah in our hearts and minds as we go through everyday life. The khateeb connected that mindfulness with honesty, sincerity, and finding joy in worship. He used the hot weather as a reminder of Jahannam and encouraged us to ask Allah for protection. He explained that warnings about punishment discourage wrongdoing, while descriptions of Jannah give us hope and encourage goodness. He also reminded us that faith calls for good actions, and ended by asking Allah for forgiveness, repentance, and a good ending.
