For the dinner table

Allah has given us many blessings, including blessings we can see and blessings hidden within difficult experiences. The khateeb reminded us that sickness and hardship can bring reward and wipe away sins when we respond with patience. A believer can find good in every situation through gratitude during ease and patience during difficulty. We should remember the severe hardships people endured in the past and thank Allah for protecting us, while still working to improve our communities and circumstances. True gratitude, or shukr, is a path to Allah and itself a blessing from Him.
