For the dinner table

The khateeb shared five pieces of advice that Jibreel gave the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Remembering that we will die can help us prepare and use our time thoughtfully. Since our time with loved ones is temporary, we should cherish them and devote our love to Allah, the Ever-Living. Our actions matter because we will be held accountable for them. The khateeb encouraged us to begin praying at night, even with something small, and build that habit. He also reminded us to develop self-sufficiency and keep our hearts dependent on Allah rather than on what other people can give us.
