For the dinner table

Allah has given us the gift of Islam, so we should thank Him and ask Him to keep our hearts firm. The speaker reminded us that this world's attractions are temporary, and our real purpose is to worship Allah; even caring for family can be worship when done for His sake. We should not let desires pull us away from prayer, good deeds, and lawful living. Remembering death helps us prepare and take ourselves to account before we are judged. Our family and wealth will leave us, but our deeds will remain, so we should focus on actions that benefit us in the hereafter.

  1. What is one daily task you could do with the intention of worshiping Allah?
  2. What does it mean to live like a traveler in this world?
  3. What kind of deed would you want to remain with you after death?
