Sincere dua is answered in beneficial ways
“Following the Sunnah of Rasulullah alayhi salatu wasalam is linked with the love of Allah.”
Sincere, patient dua and consistent Sunnah-based worship, especially on Friday, draw Allah’s love, and every sincere supplication receives an answer in some beneficial form.
The khutbah in 7 steps
- Encourages abundant salawat on Friday and practicing Sunnah in everyday actions.
- Emphasizes tawhid as the foundation of worship and teaches a protective dhikr against shirk.

- Explains dua etiquette: halal provision, sincerity, persistence, presence of heart, patience, praise of Allah, and salawat.
- Recommends asking for Jannah, protection from Hellfire, worldly and afterlife good, well-being, and lawful personal needs.
- Explains that Allah answers dua by granting what is beneficial, removing calamity, or reserving reward for the Hereafter.
- Closes with supplication and instructions to straighten and fill the prayer rows.
In the khateeb's words
“By Allah, following the sunnah of Rasulullah alayhi salatu wasalam, is linked with the love of Allah. It is guaranteed and warrantied.”
“When we are raising our hand to Allah, our heart to be present and that what we are asking, the presence of the heart is very, very important.”
For the dinner table
The khateeb reminded us that Friday is a special time to send blessings on the Prophet and practice Sunnah in ordinary actions. He taught that tawhid is the foundation of worship and encouraged families to learn a dua asking Allah for protection from known and unknown shirk. The main message was to make dua with halal provision, sincerity, a present heart, patience, praise of Allah, and salawat. We can ask for Jannah, protection from Hellfire, well-being, and lawful needs while trusting that Allah answers by granting what is good, removing a calamity, or saving the reward for the Hereafter. This week, we can choose regular moments for dhikr and dua, especially between adhan and iqamah and during the last hour before Maghrib on Friday.
- What everyday action could you begin with Bismillah more consistently?
- When have you had to be patient while waiting for something you asked Allah for?
- What blessing or form of well-being would you thank Allah for today?
