For the dinner table

The masjid is the house of Allah and a place where we gather to pray, learn, and strengthen love in the community. The khateeb reminded us that caring for it belongs to everyone, not only the imam or administration. We should clean our own messes, pick up litter, protect the prayer spaces, and report problems when needed. We should also come regularly, avoid worldly distractions and talking during the khutbah, and be considerate about smells and allergies. Finally, we should thank the people who helped build and restore the masjid, because gratitude to people is part of gratitude to Allah.

  1. What is one small way we can care for our masjid this week?
  2. Why do you think the masjid should be a place for prayer and learning, not just socializing?
  3. How can we show gratitude to people who serve our community?
