Use every blessing before it is gone

“Every single day you wake up, you have a clean slate.”

The khateeb, at 25:01

  3. Shows Umar’s humility and fear of Allah at death as evidence of spiritual urgency.
  4. Warns through afterlife scenes that people will regret wasted opportunities, urging action every day.

For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches us to race toward goodness because youth, health, wealth, free time, and life can all disappear. The Prophet’s advice, and the examples of Musa and Abu Bakr, show that good deeds should happen now and include serving people quietly. We should not wait for a perfect day or another chance, because every morning is a new opportunity to return to Allah. Even small deeds, such as an extra tasbih, matter and may raise a person’s rank. As a family, we can look for one concrete way each day to worship Allah and help someone else.

  1. Which blessing can you use better this week: your time, health, money, or energy?
  2. What is one quiet way our family could help someone without expecting praise?
  3. What small good deed could you repeat every morning?
