For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Sha'ban is our time to prepare for Ramadan, just as we plant before we can harvest. Food and decorations can be part of our preparations, but our hearts need the most attention. He encouraged us to protect our obligatory prayers, add voluntary prayers, and read Quran consistently, even in small amounts. He asked us to begin now instead of putting good intentions off until Ramadan. Through sincere repentance and working to remove grudges, envy, and unjustified hatred, we can prepare to welcome Ramadan with cleaner hearts and greater closeness to Allah.
