Why Muslims should not celebrate Easter

“It is not permissible for me or for you as a Muslim to even congratulate the non-Muslims on their festivals.”

The khateeb, at 21:54

In one sentence

The khutbah argues that Muslims must affirm Islam's tawhid and view of Isa as a prophet, reject Christian beliefs about his divinity and crucifixion, and neither celebrate nor congratulate others on Easter while remaining polite.

The khutbah teaches that Muslims honor Isa, or Jesus, as a great prophet and messenger, but do not believe he is God's son or that he was crucified. It says belief in all Allah's prophets is part of being Muslim, and that Isa was raised by Allah. The speaker says Muslims have two annual religious celebrations, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, so they should not greet or join Easter observances. At the same time, Muslims should remain polite, avoid cursing Christians, and not impose their beliefs on them.
