Community & unityFrom the masjid's own video, Sep 11, 2026.
Meet hardship with patience and support
“We are present and we give all full support.”
The khutbah in 4 steps
- The Muslim community is one body that should feel and respond to others’ pain.
- Believers meet hardship with patience and blessings with gratitude.
- Families should teach children to turn to Allah first and remember Him after relief.
- Listeners are urged to remember Allah, support those who supported them, and make du‘a for the oppressed and deceased.
Try this week
Turn to Allah through salah and du‘a when facing hardship.
Teach children to ask Allah first, then ask their parents.
Show up in person and provide sustained support when someone is suffering.
Remember Allah and renew gratitude after a difficulty is removed.
Remember those who supported you and be present for them when they need help.
Make du‘a for people facing hardship, Palestinians, and deceased martyrs.
Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“What I feel has nothing to do with how I react. What I feel are emotions. It's mercy from Allah.”
“This is how believers react to each other. We are present and we give all full support.”
“Because it would be extreme, it would be an extreme loss if someone was present for us and we were never present for them.”
