Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khutbah says that people can love money, careers, relationships, or desires so much that these pull them away from Allah. The speaker says this does not by itself make someone a disbeliever unless it reaches worship or making dua to those beloved things. We can grow in love for Allah by noticing His creation and blessings, and replacing constant scrolling and comparison with gratitude and quiet reflection. Real love also changes our choices by leading us to follow and imitate the Prophet. Our choices matter on the Day of Judgment, when misleading influences will not protect their followers.

  1. What blessing did you notice today that you usually overlook?
  2. What can you do when a phone, desire, or friendship starts pulling you away from Allah?
  3. What is one way you can learn from or follow the Prophet this week?
