Quran study opens the door to guidance
“If you haven't started, it's not too late.”
Muslims should deepen their connection to the Qur'an through sustained study, sincere intention, and a practical plan to seek and remain upon Allah's guidance.
The khutbah in 5 steps
- Explains why the Qur'an has multiple layers of interpretation and why the Prophet did not explain every verse.
- Demonstrates tafsir through Qur'anic cross-reference, hadith, recitation variants, language, and fiqh using al-Fatiha's straight path.
- Clarifies that guidance means not only recognizing the right way but remaining steadfast upon it.
- Urges listeners to value Qur'anic learning alongside worldly education.
- Encourages beginning or continuing structured Qur'an study and memorization with sincere intention.
In the khateeb's words
“If you started, please continue If you haven't started It's not too late You can start And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala Will open doors for you”
“You have the ability You have the time Just you need to put the plan And stick on that”
For the dinner table
Today's khutbah invited us to build a closer relationship with the Qur'an by giving it regular time and attention. The khateeb explained that scholars help us understand its verses through other verses, hadith, language, and different angles of study. He reminded us that asking Allah for guidance means more than learning the right way: we also ask for help staying on it throughout our lives. Knowing what is right and following it are different, so we keep asking Allah for help in our everyday choices. Whether we are beginning or continuing our learning, we can start with a sincere intention, make a practical plan, and keep going together.
