Our choices shape the consequences we face
“We don't have the choice to accept or not accept the consequences of our action.”
In one sentence
Our diverse daily choices place us on either a path of faith, generosity, and obedience that Allah facilitates, or a path of selfishness and denial that brings difficulty and inevitable consequences.

Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“Your endeavors are indeed diverse. Sa'i is our daily activity. And our daily activities are as diverse as there are people out there.”
“but we don't have the choice to accept or not accept the consequences of our action. That will happen.”
“We have to use this freedom to believe in Allah. To do good. To build our life on goodness.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khutbah reminds us that every day we are choosing what to pursue. It teaches that faith, generosity, and obedience lead us toward goodness and make it easier to keep doing good. Selfishness, denial, and harming others lead toward difficulty, even if consequences take time to appear. Allah gives us freedom to choose, but we remain responsible for every choice, so we should build our lives around the Quran, the Sunnah, and doing what is right.
- What is one thing Allah has given you that you could share this week?
- When is it hard to do the right thing, and what helps you keep going?
- What does it mean to have freedom but still be responsible for consequences?
