For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that Muslims are facing many wounds, but suffering should not make us lose faith or direction. Ramadan is a time to strengthen the heart by reflecting on the Quran and trusting Allah’s wisdom. We should learn before reacting, choose useful actions, and teach discipline and service to our children. Our pain can become worship when it leads us to dua, self-improvement, patience, and forgiveness. We are also responsible for standing together as a community and remembering overlooked people, including those suffering in Sudan.

  1. What is one useful action we can take instead of only talking about a problem?
  2. How can our family support people who are suffering in Sudan or elsewhere?
