Raise children through mercy and presence

“Your children may forget the toys you bought them.”

Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that following the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, includes how we treat the people at home. He showed affection, welcomed his daughter, listened, and helped his family. Our children need our time and attention, along with guidance that helps them know and love Allah. We can correct mistakes with kindness and keep the good habits we inherited while changing harmful ones. Families will have disagreements, but apologizing, forgiving, and listening can help our homes become places of safety, love, and mercy.

  1. What helps you feel listened to and loved at home?
  2. What could we say or do after an argument to help each other feel close again?
  3. What would you enjoy doing together for ten minutes with our phones put away?
