For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah centered on the final advice Prophet Nuh gave his son. We were reminded to worship Allah alone, trust Him first, and keep words of praise on our tongues. The speaker also warned us to guard our good deeds from showing off, because worship should be for Allah’s pleasure. He described arrogance as rejecting truth and looking down on people, even when someone does many acts of worship. This week, we can remember Allah in spare moments, check our intentions, accept correction, and treat others humbly.

  1. What is one moment today when you remembered Allah?
  2. How can we tell whether we are helping someone for Allah or for praise?
  3. What helps us accept correction without becoming defensive?
