Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“whatever we have gotten in our life, it is all from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Good, bad, everything is from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.”
“You have to say, "Alhamdulillah that you're Muslim." It is such a big blessing in being Muslim.”
“Allah does not burden a soul more than it can bear. So always remember this and keep this in mind that Allah will always be the solution to your issues.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khutbah reminds us not to complain about time, weather, or hardship as though life is outside Allah’s care. Allah controls what happens, and something that looks bad may contain protection or good we cannot yet see. When life is difficult, we should stay patient, pray, and keep trusting Allah. We should notice everyday blessings, including waking up, coming to Jumu'ah, clean water, education, and being Muslim, and say Alhamdulillah. Gratitude keeps us humble and hopeful rather than arrogant or defeated.
- Which blessing do you notice most often, and which one do you forget to thank Allah for?
- How can prayer and patience help when something feels unfair or difficult?
- Can you think of a time when something disappointing later turned out to contain some good?
