For the dinner table

Allah made human beings in the finest form and blessed us with abilities to think, speak, feel, and do good. The khateeb reminded us that these gifts come with a responsibility to use them in ways that please Allah. He encouraged us to build steady habits of kindness, worship, and helping others. When illness or old age prevents a believer from continuing those habits, Allah generously continues rewarding the good they would have done. He also reminded us that Allah judges with complete knowledge and justice, and encouraged us to use the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah to strengthen our good habits.

  1. What is one way you could use your words to please Allah tomorrow?
  2. What small good deed could we make a regular family habit?
  3. How could we show care for an older or sick person this week?
