For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah used Ibrahim and Ismail rebuilding the Kaaba to teach us to think beyond immediate needs. Their concern was not only that the work be completed, but that Allah accept it and that future generations remain grounded in Islam. We were encouraged to strengthen our families, educate our children, support immigrants, and build our community with a long-term vision. Each of us can ask what kind of legacy we are leaving and how we can help elders, youth, and neighbors flourish.

  1. What kind of legacy would you like our family to leave?
  2. How can we help someone who is new to our community feel rooted?
  3. What should our community look like when you are an adult?
