Remember the giver of every blessing
“Don't enjoy the blessing and forget the giver of the blessing.”
In one sentence
Allah has honored humanity with countless blessings, so believers should respond by remembering Him, thanking Him, loving Him, and obeying Him.

Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“That's all He wants from us to show our appreciation of what has been given to us.”
“Don't enjoy the blessing and forget the giver of the blessing.”
“If you come to me walking, I come to you running. It's on both sides.”
“So these are the three pillars of religion. a dhikr to remember and don't forget. A shukur to be grateful and not be ungrateful. Ta'a to be obedient and not disobeyed.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
Allah honored Adam and his children with many blessings before humanity even appeared. The world, our provisions, and countless abilities were prepared for us, so we should not enjoy these gifts while forgetting the One who gave them. The khutbah teaches that gratitude begins with remembering Allah, grows into love, and is shown through obedience. It summarizes religious life with three words: dhikr, remembering Allah; shukr, being grateful; and ta'a, obeying Him.
- What is one blessing you noticed today, and how could it help you remember Allah?
- Which of dhikr, shukr, or ta'a would you like to practice more this week?
- What first step could you take toward Allah tonight?
