The khutbah teaches that true wisdom begins with gratitude to Allah, because every blessing ultimately comes from Him. Luqman's advice places worship and Allah's pleasure above all other goals, while also commanding kindness and respect toward parents. Even when parents ask for something wrong, we should not obey that request, but we must still speak and act with goodness. Remembering that Allah knows every hidden action can guide our choices and help us return to Him when we make mistakes. Families are encouraged to study Surah Luqman together and reflect on how its advice should change their lives.

  1. What is one blessing you sometimes forget to thank Allah for?
  2. What could putting Allah first look like in one goal you have this year?
  3. How can we show kindness when we disagree with someone in our family?
