Allah sees the good no one notices
“You can never have true sincerity until you realize that the only one that will truly appreciate you is Allah.”
Because only Allah fully sees and appreciates our hidden efforts, we should serve Him sincerely and recognize every small good deed in others.
The khutbah in 6 steps
- Explores the universal desire to be seen and appreciated for work, sacrifice, and family responsibilities.
- Reframes burnout as seeking validation from people instead of Allah.
- Uses Surah al-Dahr to show believers serving others without seeking gratitude.
- Explains Allah’s name Ash-Shakoor as deeply valuing small deeds and rewarding them greatly.
- Applies the lesson by urging listeners to appreciate and encourage family members and children.
- Closes with hadiths emphasizing the value of intentions, small deeds, and affirming people’s worth.
In the khateeb's words
“Nobody will ever truly see you for who you are Except Allah”
“Because you can never have true sincerity Until you realize that the only one That will truly appreciate you is Allah”
“We have to embody this quality of a shakur And become people that appreciate Every little thing someone has done”
For the dinner table
Shaykh Mikaeel reminded us that we all want our efforts to be noticed, whether we are studying, working, or caring for our families. He explained that Allah is Ash-Shakoor, who deeply values even small good deeds and rewards them generously. The story of a man removing a harmful branch from the road showed that an ordinary act can mean a great deal to Allah. When others miss our efforts, we can remember that Allah sees them and renew our intention to act for His sake. We also have a responsibility to thank and encourage one another, helping our families and neighbors feel seen and valued.
- What small act of kindness could you do this week, even if nobody notices?
- Who does something for our family that we sometimes forget to thank them for?
- When has someone's encouragement made you want to try again?
