For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that every person will taste death, so our time here should lead us toward Allah rather than distraction. It explains that the grave is the first stage of the afterlife, and that our faith and deeds will matter there. We can prepare by staying clean after using the bathroom, avoiding gossip, asking Allah's protection from grave punishment in our prayers, and making tawbah often. We should pray with the seriousness of someone saying farewell while also hoping to meet Allah with a good soul.
