For the dinner table

Today the imam reminded us that faith and guidance are gifts from Allah, and those gifts bring responsibilities. We should use our minds, knowledge, and resources to serve others and represent our religion beautifully. He compared our shared life to a ship: what one person does can affect everyone, so we need to encourage good and help prevent harm. He asked us to protect, preserve, and develop the masjid so our children and grandchildren inherit something good. He also reminded us that leaders serve their communities, and all of us share responsibility for caring for our community.

  1. What is one way you could use an ability Allah gave you to help someone this week?
  2. How does the imam’s ship example help us understand why our choices affect other people?
  3. What could our family do to help make the masjid a better place for the children who come after us?
