For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that everyone receives the same number of hours in a day, but our choices decide whether that time becomes meaningful. We are encouraged to give Allah unhurried attention through salah, dhikr, dua, and charity, rather than treating worship as an interruption. We should cut back on phones and other time-wasting habits because wasted time cannot be recovered. Following the Prophet’s example means sleeping earlier, rising for Fajr, using the morning well, staying active, and eating with moderation. In short, our free time should serve our deen, our daily responsibilities, and our akhirah.

  1. How can we make our mornings more useful?
  2. What act of worship deserves more unhurried time from us?
