For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us to make prayer together in the masjid a regular part of our lives beyond Friday. The khateeb emphasized congregational prayer as an obligation for Muslim men, while acknowledging legitimate excuses such as difficult weather. He also reminded us that Allah rewards every step toward the masjid. He told the story of a young boy whose knowledge of the Qur'an enabled him to lead his community in prayer. Together, we can support our masjid by helping keep it clean, supporting its needs, and helping children learn the Qur'an and how to pray.
