For the dinner table

The khutbah's main message is that Muslims should cooperate in righteousness and piety. We are not meant to live our religious lives alone: we should know one another, come to the mosque, share our struggles, and protect the faith of our families and children. The speaker uses examples from the Prophet, Musa and Harun, and Ibrahim and Ismail to show that good work is strengthened by partnership. Helping someone who is suffering is part of being one community, while helping with theft, bribery, usury, or other wrongdoing is not. We should support the oppressed, stop oppression with sincere advice, and choose the kind of cooperation that brings us closer to Allah.
