If abuse occurs, speak to a trusted religious leader, family member, or the authorities and seek protection.
Do not shame or dismiss someone who reports abuse; listen and help them find support.
De-escalate anger by separating, reflecting, and making dua instead of striking.
Teach children not to hit, avoid escalating arguments in front of them, and use nonviolent discipline.
If violence cannot be stopped, leave the unsafe marriage without treating divorce as a stigma.
Anyone who has used violence should seek therapy, make tawbah, and end the behavior.
