For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah began with the recitation of Surah al-Kahf and then asked us to learn from the autumn season around us. Every falling leaf can remind us that Allah knows everything, which should grow our taqwa and make worship easier. The apparent death of winter and return of spring can give hope that Allah can revive a tired heart and help hidden potential emerge. Autumn should make us remember our own mortality, change our lives, and trust Allah to provide for every creature. We were also encouraged to make sincere dua for people who are ill and for Muslims suffering around the world.

  1. What is one thing in nature that reminds you of Allah?
  2. What change would you like to make before the next season?
  3. Who should we remember in our dua tonight?
