For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that gratitude for Allah's gifts is for our own good, and that one of the greatest gifts is our parents. Mothers especially carry immense physical and emotional sacrifices, so Islam commands us to speak to parents gently and humbly. While our parents are alive, we should serve them, call them, and make time for them instead of waiting until regret comes. We should pray for our parents and continue making dua for those who have passed away. Small acts of service and sincere dua can honor their sacrifices and benefit us in this life and the next.
