In the khateeb's words
“the worship of the heart and the mind that needs you to focus which is the pondering on the signs of Allah tabarakatuh wa ta'ala in the universe”
“how much I've been thankful to Allah and practice gratitude in my actions.”
“To consume all the means and reasons and then to say, "Ya Allah, I've put all what I have. I have no strength whatsoever. It is all in your hands, Ya Rabbal Alameen. I'm waiting for your support."”
“The Ummah needs to practice this. We need to ask ourselves, where is my situation and my level?”
For the dinner table
Today’s khutbah reminded us to be mindful of Allah and to think about how we are preparing for what comes after this life. The khateeb explained that worship includes reflecting on Allah’s creation and noticing the blessings we receive every day, alongside prayer and other obligations. He encouraged us to show gratitude through our actions and to keep practicing patience when worship or life becomes difficult. Awaiting Allah’s relief, he said, means making our best effort and then trusting Him with the outcome. He pointed to the steadfastness of people in Gaza and Palestine and asked us to join our duas with practical help, including financial support for children and families.
- What is something in nature that helps you think about Allah?
- Which blessing could you show gratitude for through an action tomorrow?
- What could we do together to help children and families in Gaza?
