The khateeb reminded us that the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are a special opportunity to draw closer to Allah through good deeds. He encouraged us to make a sincere plan and choose acts of worship we can carry out, including fasting, prayer, and remembering Allah. He spoke about Hajj and Umrah, and encouraged those able to fast to give particular attention to the day of Arafah. He reminded us that everyone makes mistakes and that returning to Allah in repentance should be a regular part of our lives. We can also make these days meaningful by feeding people in need, giving charity, sharing with others, and visiting relatives.
