Today’s khutbah reminded us that strengthening the ummah begins with strengthening ourselves. The khateeb warned that attachment to worldly life can distract us from Allah and the hereafter. He encouraged us to examine our intentions, concerns, and goals, and to make closeness to Allah our main concern. He also shared stories of companions whose selflessness, service, and learning offer examples for us to follow. As a family, we can learn about their lives and choose small ways to grow in humility, faith, and care for others.
