For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that gratitude to Allah is not something reserved for one holiday. Every breath, meal, sense, relationship, and moment of safety is a gift that deserves remembrance. We can practice this by saying Allah’s name before eating, thanking Him afterward, and writing down the blessings we often overlook. The sermon also teaches that wisdom and understanding our faith are blessings, not just material possessions. Remembering Allah should deepen our concern for Muslims suffering in places such as Gaza and encourage us to depend on Him while caring about others.

  1. What is one blessing you noticed today that you usually take for granted?
  2. How can our family make mealtimes more thankful?
  3. What kind of wisdom or understanding would you like Allah to increase in you?
