Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“Believers recognize that it comes from the Mun'im, Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la, to restore a blessing.”
“They have forgiveness from Allah and they demonstrate forgiveness to others. Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala humbles them because He lifts from them a difficulty, a test.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
Shaykh Zahir reminded us that Allah gives us more blessings than we can count, and our gratitude should show in our actions. He described the difference between calling on Allah during hardship and then forgetting Him, and remembering Him through both difficulty and ease. He encouraged prayer at night, when no one else sees, as a way to grow closer to Allah and seek His mercy. He also reminded us to take the next life seriously and learn from the help Allah gives us. As we grow in faith, we should become more humble, merciful, and forgiving toward the people around us.
- What is one blessing you noticed today, and how could you show your thanks to Allah?
- What could help you remember Allah on easy days as well as hard days?
- How could we practice forgiveness in our family this week?
