Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that faith is not only what we say or believe; it must show up in how we treat people. The speaker connected the commandments in the Quran to worshipping Allah, honoring parents, keeping family ties, caring for orphans and people in need, speaking kindly, and serving neighbors. He encouraged us to respond to injustice through our voices, petitions, letters, protests, and everyday choices, while trusting Allah with what is beyond our control. He also urged us to begin with our own homes and local community, not only distant crises. Our goal is to become people of examples rather than people of talkers.

  1. What is one way we can help someone in our neighborhood this week?
  2. How can we speak up kindly when we see something unfair?
  3. What does being a person of action look like at home?
