For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that life is short, and remembering our return to Allah can soften our hearts and help us see what matters. The khateeb explained that earning a living is good when it is halal, while reminding us to protect our prayers, character, and remembrance of Allah. He encouraged us to leave lasting good through ongoing charity, useful knowledge, and children who learn faith and pray for their parents. He also reminded us that the path to Jannah involves everyday sacrifices, such as getting up for Fajr or making time to pray during a busy day. Finally, he encouraged heartfelt, patient dua and hope in Allah’s mercy, explaining that an answer may come as what we asked for, protection from harm, or a reward in the next life.
