For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that gratitude to Allah is closely connected to gratitude toward our parents. Parents carry and care for us through years of sacrifice, so we should speak to them gently and treat their concerns with respect. As they grow older, they may need our help just as we once needed theirs. We should serve them while they are alive, pray for them, and ask Allah to forgive and honor them.

  3. What helpful task could you do for your parents this week without being asked?
