For the dinner table

The khutbah uses Musa's prayer before facing Fir'aun to teach us how to face difficult responsibilities. We should ask Allah specifically for an open heart, an easier task, clear speech, and people who can help us. Musa wanted listeners not just to hear him, but to understand deeply, so believers should do their work with ihsan and care. We should cooperate with capable family and community members, wish good for others, and make remembrance of Allah the purpose behind our daily actions. When we turn to Allah with confidence and follow the Qur'an and prophetic example, even ordinary actions can become worship and difficult tasks can feel hopeful.

  1. What is one difficult task where you could ask Allah for help more specifically?
  2. How could you show ihsan in something you need to do this week?
  3. Who could help you, and how could working together improve the result?
