Leave the fate of the unreached to Allah
“Our job is to present this Islam to the people.”
The fate of people who never received a clear prophetic message is ultimately Allah’s judgment, so Muslims should ground themselves in revelation, fulfill the duty of presenting Islam, and resist Shaytan’s doubts and desires.
The khutbah in 6 steps
- Affirms the Quran and Sunnah as the believer’s guidance and reference.
- Introduces how Allah judges people who lived without a clear prophetic message.
- Reviews four scholarly positions on the fate of those unreached by revelation.
- Adopts leaving ultimate judgment to Allah while distinguishing those who rejected a message they clearly heard.
- Warns that Shaytan misguides through doubts and unchecked desires, step by step.
- Urges vigilance, refuge in Allah, and steadfastness on the straight path.
In the khateeb's words
“Because this life is really short to Allah SubhanAllah And this life is a test”
“Our job is to do the da'wah Our job is to present this Islam to the people And for them to go to Jannah or the hellfire This is up to them”
“Shaytan has a lot more dedication, a lot more intelligence that we think he has”
For the dinner table
Today’s khutbah explored a hard question: how Allah judges people who lived without receiving a clear message from a prophet. It presented several scholarly views and emphasized that the safest conclusion is to leave the final judgment to Allah, whose knowledge and justice are complete. Our responsibility is to follow the Quran and Sunnah and present Islam to others, not to claim authority over people’s final destination. The sermon also warned that Shaytan works gradually through doubts and excessive desires, so we should stay alert, keep our obligations, and ask Allah for protection. We can carry this lesson with humility: trust Allah’s judgment while taking responsibility for our own faith and actions.
- What is one difficult question you can take to the Quran or Sunnah instead of guessing?
- How can we notice when a small desire is beginning to pull us away from our obligations?
- What does it mean to trust Allah’s judgment while still being responsible for our choices?
