For the dinner table

Imam Ahmed reminded us to keep the hereafter in mind as we make everyday choices. He connected four stories in Surah Al-Kahf with how we use our lives, money, knowledge, and abilities. The young people of the cave remind us to protect our faith and find companions who help us worship Allah. The other stories teach us to share our blessings, stay humble enough to learn, and use our strength to help others. He encouraged each of us to choose one practical action from the khutbah and put it into practice this week.

  1. Who helps you remember Allah and make good choices, and how do they help?
  2. What is something you could share this week to help someone else?
  3. What skill could you use to make life easier for someone in our family or community?
