Remember Allah to guard your home
“The dhikr of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is the tool that we can use to protect ourselves from his influence.”
In one sentence
Regular, intentional remembrance of Allah, especially in the home and when entering, leaving, and eating, is a believer’s practical protection from shaytan’s influence.
The khutbah in 5 steps
- Seek refuge in Allah and use dhikr when facing satanic whispers.
- Turning away from remembrance, even slightly, allows shaytan’s influence to grow.
- Protect the home through Qur’an, voluntary prayer, adhkar, and removing sinful influences.
- Practice remembrance when leaving and entering the home and before eating.
- Close with supplication, prayer, community announcements, and a brief donation appeal.

Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“The dhikr of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is the tool that we can use to protect ourselves from his influence. And to protect our children from his influence.”
“There is evil, there is dirt, there is filth in the homes that you do not see nor perhaps perceive. But if you clean it, you will know how beautiful and clean your house is.”
“Every moment is intentional every word has a meaning every action has an intention behind it.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
Today’s khutbah taught that remembering Allah is a protection from shaytan’s whispers and influence. The speaker especially focused on making our homes alive with Qur’an, voluntary prayer, regular adhkar, and cleaner media choices. He encouraged us to say the leaving-home dua, greet and remember Allah when entering, and begin meals with Bismillah. The goal is to make family life more intentional, spiritually clean, and connected to Allah.
- What dhikr could you remember the next time you leave home?
- What can our family do to make mealtimes more intentional?
- Which screen or media habit would you like our family to clean up?
