For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us to thank Allah for everyday blessings, including movement, hearing, speech, and time. Speaking about his own blindness, he shared both the difficulties he faces and the blessings he continues to appreciate. He encouraged us to turn gratitude into action through prayer, coming to the masjid, and teaching our children Islam and the Quran. He also described pursuing Quran memorization when others thought he could accomplish little, reminding us to encourage one another through hardship. At the end, he asked for support for his madrasa and masjid, where he teaches the Quran, including to blind students.

  1. What everyday blessing did the khutbah help you notice today?
  2. How could you encourage someone who is being told they cannot succeed?
